Mr. Mikkelsen’s work as a consultant has included analysis of damages, mergers, monopolization, price fixing and regulation. His recent work has emphasized class
certification, regulation of broadcast media, and monopolization issues. He also has considerable expertise in the newspaper industry. Mr. Mikkelsen has testified on behalf of federal and
state governments and several private parties. His testimony in federal and state courts involved damages, economic benefits, market definition, monopolization and price discrimination.
Mr. Mikkelsen formerly served as an economist in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to that time, he was a visiting assistant professor at the University of
Michigan and an instructor at Yale University. He taught courses in microeconomic theory, industrial organization and regulation, and economic development.
